CRSA | Manchester Piccadilly Corridor Renewal

The Challenge

Inside Out Group was commissioned to capture the 2026 Manchester Piccadilly corridor renewal, a major rail infrastructure upgrade on one of the busiest approaches into Manchester’s main station.

The goal was to create a clear, engaging video that showed the scale of the works and the people delivering them.

Filming took place in a busy, safety-critical railway environment. Multiple engineering activities were happening at the same time, and access windows were limited. We needed to capture strong visuals quickly while working around an active engineering programme.

The Approach

We planned a focused filming day to capture the project up close.

Using the Canon R5 mirrorless camera, we filmed interviews, handheld footage and tripod-mounted b-roll across the site. Handheld shots added movement and energy. Tripod shots provided stable, cinematic coverage of the works.

To show the wider scale of the project, we captured aerial footage using the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. These drone shots revealed the full corridor and the intensity of activity across the railway.

Alongside the filming day, we installed multiple time-lapse cameras overlooking the site. These cameras ran throughout the works, capturing the transformation of the corridor from start to finish.

The Result

The final video combines interviews, cinematic ground footage, aerial imagery and construction time-lapse.

The film shows the scale of the engineering works, the teamwork on site and the precision required to deliver major railway upgrades.

The finished content supports project communications and provides a lasting visual record of the Manchester Piccadilly corridor renewal.
