The Challenge
The Greatest Gathering took place at Alstom’s historic Litchurch Lane Works in Derby. The event formed part of the Railway 200 celebrations, marking 200 years of rail in Britain. It brought together historic and modern rolling stock and welcomed tens of thousands of visitors.
Alstom required a professional event film and photography partner to deliver high-quality video production for the rail industry. The content needed to showcase scale, heritage, and atmosphere. It also needed to perform across social media, digital marketing, and web platforms.
The Approach
We deployed a two-person media production crew over two consecutive days.
Using Canon R5 mirrorless cameras, we captured interviews, crowd interaction, and cinematic b-roll. A combination of gimbal, tripod, and handheld filming allowed us to work quickly while maintaining broadcast-quality results.
A DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone was used to capture aerial footage, providing wide establishing shots and showcasing the full scale of the event site.
This approach ensured flexible, high-impact event videography and drone filming, delivered safely and efficiently.
The Result
We produced a cinematic event aftermovie designed for maximum impact and longevity.
