The Challenge
Balfour Beatty hosted a Rail Plant Open Day to showcase its latest railway technology and infrastructure equipment. The event brought together potential buyers and industry decision-makers for live demonstrations and hands-on displays.
We were commissioned to create a sharp, engaging event video. The goal was to highlight Balfour Beatty’s plant capabilities and capture the atmosphere of the day. The final video needed to support marketing efforts, client engagement, and internal communications.
The Approach
We sent a single experienced camera operator to film the event. Working with a compact, high-quality kit, they were able to move quickly and cover all key moments.

Interviews: We filmed Balfour Beatty staff on-site, capturing their insights on the equipment, the goals of the event, and the importance of in-person engagement. These interviews built the core story of the video.

4K B-Roll: Using the Canon R5, we filmed in 4K across tripod, gimbal, and handheld setups. This mix allowed us to capture detailed close-ups, live demonstrations, and crowd interaction—all with a clean, cinematic finish.

Drone Footage: To add impact, we flew the DJI Mini 4 Pro. These aerial shots gave a clear view of the event layout and helped show the scale of the demonstrations. The drone footage elevated the production value and provided strong visual context.
The Result
The final corporate event video gives a fast-paced, professional overview of the Rail Plant Open Day. It highlights Balfour Beatty’s advanced rail plant, the people behind the technology, and the strong engagement from attendees.
The video is now used across digital platforms, stakeholder presentations, and internal briefings. It’s a strong example of our ability to deliver high-quality rail event filming with a small crew—on time, on brand, and with maximum visual impact.
