Willmott Dixon Construction & FORE Partnership | Tower Bridge Court

The Challenge

In collaboration with FORE Partnership, Willmott Dixon are undertaking the Tower Bridge Court redevelopment (TBC London). Instead of demolishing the building, this forward thinking duo are retrofitting the 1990’s office building, preserving the embodied carbon frame whilst adding three additional floors improving functionality. Resulting in a net zero carbon building, fully electric in operation. It is targeted to be one of the greenest buildings in Europe.

Senior Operations Manager Matt Adams approached us with the requirement of making a website video for the project which would double as a site induction video for employees of both FORE and Willmott Dixon who are new to the project. The video required an introduction to TBC, background on FORE Partnership and what they stand for, as well as footage of the interior demolition. Matt wanted the video to communicate the importance of sustainability and the example the building sets for future works across London.

The Approach

We headed down to London with a 2 man film crew. Firstly we met with Matt Adams to discuss the filming stages of the video and capture footage required for an engaging video.

The filming took place over a single action packed day gathering footage across three locations: Tower Bridge Court, Willmott Dixon’s Tower Bridge office and FORE Partnership’s office in Mayfair. It was important for us to capture each location to show the combined scope of the project and partners involved. In order to effectively communicate the required themes, we interviewed Matt and Basil Demeroutis (a managing partner from FORE Partnership). They provided insight into the project commenting on it’s modern approach to sustainability and what it will do for London. Furthermore Matt and Basil discussed their respective companies vested interest in working together.

B-roll was captured at each location aiming to provide perspective on the process’s taking place. The bulk of the footage being the demolition of Tower Bridge Court’s interior and respective company offices. In order to capture the iconic exterior of the surrounding area, we went above and beyond. We scaled a tower crane at Tower Bridge Court in order to record sweeping views of The Thames, The Square Mile and Tower Bridge.

The Result

We sent through a strong first draft of the video with incredibly positive feedback. The video was on brand, specifically aligning with FORE Partnership and Willmott Dixon’s aims of progressive sustainability. After a few minor tweaks we delivered the completed video to Willmott Dixon in a very short time window. The project went to plan due to a strong working relationship we’ve cultivated over years of work with Willmott Dixon and excellent communication from all parties involved. A big thank you to Matt Adams and Basil Demeroutis for their knowledge and insight during the interviewing process.

“It’s great, thanks for producing such a fantastic video.”
